Easy Cooking was an Erasmus+ program for creating an accessible cookbook for people with intellectual disabilities. The program coordinator was Margarita Vocational Training Center in collaboration with Harokopio University, Ploes EPSYME, Organization Earth, Fundació Ramon Noguera (Spain), Orchardville (UK), and ARCIL (Portugal).
We were asked to create a visual identity for the program and design the final Easy Cooking cookbook. The end goal was to emphasize the project’s problem-solving and optimistic nature and design a book of recipes that intellectually impaired individuals can use without difficulty.
Our design for the Easy Cooking logo was inspired from the program’s name. We combined a cooking pot (a familiar image that connotes simple food made for everybody) with a magic wand (a symbol of quick and easy solutions). We added vivid colors and plain typography to create the basis for a more playful and relatable visual identity.
Next, we collaborated with the team at Margarita VTC to design an accessible cookbook with simple healthy recipes that anyone can make. The copy was written in easy-to-read text, so we created a series of descriptive icons and illustrations to make following the recipes an even easier and more pleasant experience.
“Sharing every memorable moment we had while working with molivi design studio wouldn’t be enough to describe the full quality of their work. Their experience and imagination inspired us to reimagine the vision and values we wanted the Easy Cooking visual identity to embody.”
